AFC Injury Report
Ravens All-Pro tight end Todd Heap (hamstring) was injured in the third quarter of Sunday’s 27-13 loss and is listed as questionable for this week’s game.
Fantasy stud Joseph Addai (shoulder) is scheduled to receive an MRI on his injured shoulder this week and is listed as probable for Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers.
Wide receiver Marvin Harrison (bruised knee) sustained the injury in the first half of Sunday’s 38-20 victory over the Broncos and could possibly be out for this week’s matchup with Tampa Bay.
Oakland Raiders running back LaMont Jordan (back) re-injured himself in the second quarter of Sunday’s win at Miami and was seen on crutches after the game. Jordan has been a nice surprise for the Raiders this season as he has accumulated 424 yards rushing on 84 carries. With the emergence of Justin Fargas and the return of Dominic Rhodes in week six, there could be a running back controversy brewing by the bay.
Javon Walker (knee) missed last week’s game at Indianapolis and his status for Sunday’s game is uncertain.
Running back Travis Henry (ankle) is questionable forthis week’s game with San Diego.
NFC Injury Report Rookie phenom Calvin Johnson (back) is questionable for Sunday’s game at Washington after missing last week’s win over the Bears.
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Tarvaris Jackson (groin) is hopeful that he’ll be able to start next Sunday at Chicago after missing the previous two weeks. Even when Jackson returns to the lineup he will not be a viable fantasy option at the quarterback position.
Running Back Carnell Williams (torn patellar tendon) will be out for the remainder of the season and be forced to undergo surgery to repair his badly injured right knee. Williams was carted off the field in the first quarter after being hit by Panthers safety Chris Harris. In the meantime, Michael Pittman and Earnest Graham will replace Williams who has been the Buccaneers leading rusher the past two seasons. Graham appears to be the better fantasy option as he has found the endzone three times in the past two weeks.
Carolina Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme (strained right elbow) appears to have staved off season-ending surgery by starting a demanding rehabilitating program. It’s unlikely that he’ll suit up for Sunday’s game at New Orleans and that means backup David Carr will receive his second straight start.
Wide Receiver Isaac Bruce (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against Arizona.
All-Pro wideout Anquan Boldin (hip) missed last week’s game against the Steelers and is currently experiencing soreness in his hip. He’s questionable for this week’s game.
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith (separated shoulder) will be out of action for this week’s game against Baltimore, but will luckily not require surgery. With the team off the following week it’s likely that he could make the start October 21st at New York. Trent Dilfer, who struggled in relief of Smith, will make the start against the team he guided to the Super Bowl in 2000.
